Mascara Madness # 2

So this is the second installment to my mini mascara reviews. I'm going to review for you Dior Diorshow New Look Mascara,$28.50.

This Mascara is very unique. The brush has two different types of bristles which gives your lashes definition

and length.What I love about this mascara is that there is no clumping because of the two different bristles, and it gives me great length for that natural look. If you want volume this isn't the mascara for you. At the end of the day when I go to do my nightly skin care routine this mascara will leave me with some smudgeness under my eyes. Even with the best eye makeup remover! That's the only downfall, which is no issue if you double cleanse. So there you have it gals. The Perfect Blush Brush

So I've been searching for the perfect blush brush for a while now, preferably something more high end that would last me a couple of years, maybe even until I'm old and crinkly! ;)
I decided to purchase these 3 lovely blush brushes, try them out and then decide which one is right for me.

NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush $50: After seeing Sandra talk about this brush and how much she loved it I had to test it out. I was really intrigued with this brush because it's inspired by Japanese beauty rituals, and it's hand spun to preserve it's uniqueness. What I really love about this brush is it's multiple usage. You can use it for blush, bronzer and highlighting. y only complaint is that it's not as soft as the others. Believe it's pretty soft, but if i'm comparing between the other 2 this one is the least soft. It does hold it shape really well after several washes. I don't know of any dupes for this brush. The only similar one is MAC 138, it's more tapered so it's not an exact dupe.

Next up is Chanel Blush Brush #4 $54: Which Heidi/ Jalapena2007 told me was one of her favorite blush brushes. I really loved this blush. It's extremely soft, and places blush on your cheeks like a dream. I had no complaints with this one.The handle is a bit shorter than any other brushes I own. It's great for placing color on your cheeks, but I needed something that can be used in many different ways. A dupe for this would be the MAC 116, but it no way can u compare the softness and quality.

Bobbi Brown Blush Brush $50: This brush is an award winner, and i wanted to try it because i have the bronzer brush and I love it!!!! After watching/reading the lovely Estee rave about this brush, I had to try it. It's a great brush, extremely soft and blends beautifully. My only complaint with it was the long handle that isn't convenient for traveling. Also the head shape is quite large for my cheeks, the placement of my blush was a little too wide. :( Which is a bummer because I really like this one.  A dupe for this would be the MAC 129. The Bobbi Brown is more compact and holds it's shape.

So there you have it my quest for the perfect blush brush. So which one did I choose... The winner is the NARS Yachiyo brush. I just liked the versatility that this brush has. I use it for blush, highlighting, and even loose powder. What brushes do you love for blush?

Feburary Favorites

This post is a little late but I thought what the hell I'll do it anyway. This month I have been into the no makeup/makeup look. I love the dewy natural look paired with effortless eye makeup.

First Fav is my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I have been using this palette pretty much all month. The later half of the month there was another palette that stole my heart, which will most likely be in my March favorites! Hint: NARS! What I love about the Naked Basics palette is that it's pretty much fool proof. You can make it very natural with nice defined eyes or amp it up a little bit with the darker shades. Keeping with the no makeup/makeup look i have been really liking Clinque Airbrush Concealer. I like it so much better than Bobbi Brown creamy concealer, which creased on me like crazy! This concealer is the total opposite. It doesn't crease and it gives me a light coverage for those days that my dark circle are behaving themselves!! I top it off with my new fan high end mascara Le volume de Chanel. I just have a sample size but i'm taking full advantage of that sample ;) You can see the full review of the mascara here.

I love to pair this look with Benefit Bella Bamba blush. This blush is a watermelon pink with gold undertones which i think is great for the winter months. I like Coralista more for the spring and summer. This blush gives me just the right amount of glowy cheeks without looking too glittery. I only have a sample size but i will be buying the full size when i run out. I have been pairing this look with 2 different lip colors. I use Mac Patisserie, which i had to get after reading the dauphine's review. Its a my lips but better color. When i want to amp it up i use Smashbox Lipgloss in "Fame". It gives my lips a nice plumy color for when I feel like showing off my lips.

Mascara Madness # 1

I have a huge stash of mini mascara sitting in my drawer. So finally I decided to use them all up and review them one by one. First off is the new Le Volume De Chanel.

This mascara goes for $30 dollars and only comes in black. I really love this mascara! First off the wand is made of rubber and it's shaped like any normal mascara wand. What I love so much about this mascara is that it gives me great volume, length, and curl at the same time without looking clumpy.

   No need for those pinching eyelash curlers with this mascara! I Being a contact wearer I have no problems with this mascara drying out my eyes. Which is always a plus! Since i got the sample thru the Chanel counter I'm pretty please with it, but I wouldn't go out of my way and pay $30 every 3 months. If you feel like splurging and treating yourself to a great high end mascara I would definitely recommend this one.
